Individual Parts

    Project Firmware (EPROM code)

  • Version 1.0
  • 65C02 specific firmware for IIe enhanced and IIgs
  • Version 1.1Never Released
  • Version 1.2 65C02 specific firmware for IIe enhanced and IIgs
  • Version 1.0 6502 specific firmware for II+ and IIe
  • Project CPLD logic source files (Altera/Atmel)

  • Version 1.0 Initial Project Release - CompactFlash working only
  • Version 1.1 Fix for IDE hard drives. Implements proper ATA timing for IORD & IOWR
  • Version 1.2 Fix for using multiple cards and being a good bus citizen.
  • Version 1.3 Lets CFFA work in Apple ][+, and IIe. Also provides much better timing margins in all Apple IIs.
  • Version 1.4 Supports "3 jumper" hardware fix to allow larger CF cards (and previously incompatiable brands) to work. This version also works with CFFA cards that do not have the 3 jumper fix applied.
  • Version 2.0 Supports hardware PCB Version 2.0 CFFAs. Not for CFFA versions 1.x

Project Schematic

  • Version 1.0 Orcad based
  • Version 1.1 Orcad based. Note: There is a nasty bug in this schematic. The 74HCT245 databus buffer is backwards. The B side should be connected to the Apple Bus not the A side. Will be fixed in Version 1.2. (Date Found: 02/07/02)
  • Version 1.2B Protel 99SE based. Schematic and PCB files that were used to create the production CFFA circuit board.
  • Version 2.0B Schematic PDF Altium 6 based. Schematic of the current v2.0 production CFFA circuit board.

Third Party software

    Dave Lyons' GS/OS Driver

  • CompactFlash v1.0 in Shrinkit format
  • CompactFlash v1.0 in Binascii format

  • Note: The CFFA card will work under GS/OS without this driver, but additional volumes and significant speed increase result from using the driver. You can also download the same GS/OS driver files, including source code, from Dave Lyons' Web site
