CFFA and the Apple III

Postby gsmcporet » Sat Sep 01, 2007 7:57 pm

Rich and all,

I was perusing around on the web and found a company that is manufacturing a combination IDE hardcard/CFFA card for the Apple III.

My question is: Using the SOS Utility software and an Apple III disk drive to load it up, would it be possible to use your CFFA card in an Apple III?

Thanks,
Steven (gsmcporet)

Steve,

I don't know much about the Apple /// but Dale Jackson has already written a Apple /// driver for the CFFA. It can be downloaded from the downloads page on my site: https://dreher.net/?s=projects/CFforAppl ... nloads.php

I have assumed this driver is enough to get the CFFA functional in the Apple ///. But I have never tried it myself.

Let me know what you find...

Using Dale Jackson's driver gives you full functionality under SOS. The only limitation I've found is that partitions can only be 16MB or 16 bit sign problems in parts of SOS make the partition size negative! I have it installed along with my Profile, but I only use the CFFA now. Dale even installed Catalyst III on his.
