Right now mine is sitting in my GS cause it uses less power than my Focus drive and 340 mb is enough for me right now.

Mine is sitting in my GS as well....doing nothing. It hasn't worked since I received it in Jan '05 I bought a 256MB Sandisk CF card to use it on it but apparently without v1.4 and/or a HW fix the card is useless to me. I could try a 128MB or smaller CF card but haven't been able to find one yet. Besides....after dropping $120 US plus the cost of the CF card I'm thinking I should cut my losses and put the GS out to pasture.

340mb microdrives are really cheap... so are some of the smaller CF cards just use one of them...

I agree--to be honest it sounds
like you're looking for a reason
to retire your GS. :) Send your
card in to Rich to do the upgrade
or do it yourself and your CF
will work fine--put Contiki on it!
Or go out and buy a 128 meg CF--
I've seen them on sale for as low
as $20! That GS is a very capable
computer--you just have to show it
you're willing to work with it's
little quirks. :)

Yeah....I'll probably look around for a 128 meg CF card or smaller. I really don't want to scrap the GS. I have a 1Gig microdrive but it doesn't want to work with the CFFA card either.

Definately send me your card. I will update it and send it back.
All you pay is the shipping to me.

With the update, just about ever CF card will work. I am sure there are some
out there than won't, but I haven't found one yet.

And if you are still bummed about buying the card, let me know and I will
let you return it for a refund minus the shipping.
