Will USB Thumb Drives be Hot Swapable?

So we will be able to access a USB thumb drive connected to the
CFFA3000.

Will we be able to do a hot swap of thumb drives?

Or will we have to power down our Apple IIgs computers to do
the swap, like we do now with the CF cards.

The swap can be hot. You will need to pop into the firmware to tell the card which image to pick up and use, and in some cases even reboot... but you won't need to power down.

Thanks for your reply, David.

Hot swap is a big improvement.

Dang this is an exciting new Card.

Thank you for your contributions. Can't wait to get one.

A related improvement that was just delivered in the latest firmware rev - ProDOS is now notified that the disks are removeable, meaning it will allow and accommodate the virtual disks coming and going. This is even visualized on the GSOS screen by the drive icons becoming shaded when you pop out the CF or USB card, and fill back in when you re-insert.
