Hi CFFA fans,

I just wanted to explain why I have not yet opened up pre-orders.
I have just changed my order form to use a commercial shopping cart.
So the plan is to take a batch of boards down to Kfest to sell (if they arrive in time).
I will be looking for feedback on both the CFFA3000 and the order process. With this information
I can fine tune everything and then open up for pre-orders when I get back.
The real issue here is that the firmware is still not quite finished.
Even though the firmware and logic are easily field upgradeable I don't want to release something unstable.

Been watching the beta forums and it looks like great progress is being made to get thru the various issues!

Any thoughts on how close the firmware is to being ready for prime time? Would 1-2 more versions after b17 be a good guess?

I will say that I am glad you are holding off until the firmware is solid so you still have a life and time to continue providing such excellent support :)

Given the "6 to 8 weeks" quoted when ordering, I'm guessing we've still got at least another month of attempting to be patient ;-)

Anxious as i am, realistically that works out great for me anyway as summer is still here. Imaging hundreds of floppy disks is best when the weather is not as nice :) Not to mention I have a couple big projects at work to finish by November.
