Multiple Disk II slots possible with one card?

Postby kgreene » Sat Aug 06, 2011 1:18 pm

I know for now the CFFA3000 supports a single slot of 2 disk II drives. What I want to know is if the card is capable of supporting multiple slots at the same time. If so, how many? Could it potentially support every slot being filled with virtual drives?

Maybe even if it isn't in there now, could a future firmware update possibly allow for this?

I realize every slot would be more for the novelty of it except for corner cases (timezone!) but supporting 4 drives would be closer to regularly useful. I seem to remember some games that supported this but offhand I can't remember which ones.

Nope, just one virtual slot and one SmartPort slot for now. You can fill the machine with SmartPort drives with ProDOS v2 and above - not that that would help you with timezone. ;-)

Hmmm, I don't know - we'd have to ask Dave, The Firmware Guy that question.
