Recommended CF card brand?

Looking on Amazon for 64MB compact flash card, I get the impression that most are intended for storing pictures. That would seem to be a lot lower usage than one might expect in a computer drive. Does anybody have recommendations for brand, etc. of CF card to purchase for the CFFA card?

Thanks,

Skip,

I typically recommend using SanDisk brand, but many other brands should work fine.
You don't really say what CFFA card you are using, but if it is the CFFA3000 you probably want to find yourself a 1 or 2 GB card to store disk images onto.
If you are using Gen 1 or 2 CFFA card then a 128MB card is probably the largest you would ever need.

In general, the CFFA3000 is very compatible with most CF cards, and the older CFFA cards are a little more particular. If you have one of these, go with SanDisk.

NOTE: if you have a 1st Gen 1.x card, there was a 3 wire rework, that I do for free if you send your board back to me. This fix is mainly lets those old card work with more CF card brands.

Thanks,
-Rich

I know a particular SanDisk USB drive that has a problem, at least with my setup (CFFA 3000 in a Rom 01 GS). The SanDisk Cruzer 32gb, SDCZ360-32G. I get an I/O error and the USB drive is corrupted, it needs to be reformatted.

Other, smaller capacity SanDisk Cruzer drives, no problem.

Also, Rich, thank you for your efforts. I like to say my 30 year old Apple IIGS had solid state drives before the Windows 10 desktop !

I have been using SanDisk 256 MB Compact Flash Cards in my "Woz" ROM1 with the latest CFFA card. Seems to work fine.

Also using this CF Reader in my late 2008 MacMini to pull in disk images.

Thank you so much, Rich! This really rocks!!! I never imagined I would be using my GS almost daily in the year 2016!
